From Cruise Port: Bay of Islands
You can join the tour on our comfortable cruising vessel at Paihia or Russell.
Please note the meeting points The meeting point for Paihia is the Island Getaway building, 69 Marsden Road, Paihia, 0200.
We are the only Cruise company in the Bay of Islands approved by the ancestral owners of Motu Kokako to share the Maori History of "The Hole in the Rock".
Discover the spectacular scenery of this New Zealand paradise and learn about the areas rich culture and history with full commentary from our local skipper. When conditions permit, get up close to the dramatic cliffs at Cape Brett and travel through the iconic Hole in the Rock on Motukokako.
On the way we stop at Robertson Island for 30 minutes where you can walk to the top for the fabulous views of the bay. Then on past many of the 140 Islands to the Hole in the Rock.
Encounter diverse wildlife in their natural surroundings and keep an eye out for dolphins, whales, birdlife and seals during your cruise.
Your trip may also include a stop at Otehei Bay / Moturua / Waewaetorea, weather dependent, on the Department of Conservations Urupukapuka Island. You will have time to explore the island, swim or snorkel at the sandy bay and purchase some food and drink from the cafe.
Relax on our cruise back to Russell and Paihia. You can get off the cruise at Russell if time allows and catch the ferry back to Paihia.

Restrictions
- Some walking to the look out on Robertson Island is required up a track.
- Travel through the Hole in the Rock is dependent on weather conditions.
Options
- If conditions are not suitable, an alternative route within the inner islands will be used.
- The cafe at Otehei Bay may be open for you to purchase food and drinks.
- The second island stopover is determined on the day, depending on wind direction and sea conditions.
